Paperless-ngx is an open-source document management system for capturing, organizing, searching, and archiving all your paper documents in digital form. OCR (Optical Character Recognition) detects the text in scanned and photographed documents and makes it fully searchable — so you can find specific information in your documents quickly and easily.

server.camp provides Paperless-ngx together with a WebDAV server, so you can upload new documents to Paperless-ngx using any compatible WebDAV client or scanner. You can also download your documents from Paperless-ngx via WebDAV for local backups or storage in another cloud.
The AI built into Paperless-ngx since version 3.0 — metadata suggestions and a chat about your documents — can be used with your own language model at no extra cost. OpenAI-compatible providers and Ollama are supported, plus an embedding model for the chat (OpenAI-compatible, Ollama or Huggingface). You configure the connection directly in Paperless-ngx.
Alternatively, book the AI features add-on: we then provide the language model for suggestions and chat — on European infrastructure, without you needing an API account of your own — and include paperless-gpt preconfigured on top: its own interface, tag-driven automation and AI OCR for hard-to-read scans.
Your users can sign in via Single Sign-On against your identity provider — using Authentik, Keycloak, Microsoft Entra ID or any other OIDC provider.
